CHAUCER’S is pleased to announce the re-introduction of our Pomegranate dessert wine. Yes, in fact, we did produce this wine back in 1977. However, it was discontinued in 1990 during streamlining of our dessert wine selections. Now it is back!
Many of us have actually enjoyed pomegranate juice, unknowingly, through all-purpose syrup called grenadine. As a key flavor component, pomegranate has supplied the giddy up to a Roy Rogers, the twinkle to a Shirley Temple and the flash in a Tequila Sunrise. CHAUCER’S Pomegranate wine has equal versatility on the beverage landscape. It is fantastic straight-up and chilled as either an aperitif or dessert wine; an ounce or tow in a brut-style sparkling wine is perhaps the ultimate kir Royale, or a new twist to a Cosmopolitan. For additional Pomegranate wine drink recipes, please refer to our web site www.chaucerswine.com.
Although this wine exhibits the richness similar to a fine liqueur, this speciality dessert-style beverage is not fortified and contains only 11.6% alcohol. Hence, this wine should be consumed shortly after purchase to enjoy its natural and rich fruit flavor. Also, it is recommended to refrigerate this delicate product after opening.
The pomegranates were sourced from orchards int he dry, arid portion of the southern San Joaquin Valley of California. The fruit was delicately pressed without macerating the rinds or seeds. This brilliant, ruby-colored wine displays a silky elegance in the flavor profile, punctuated by its spunky, acidic backbone.
