Bouche d’Or, which translates to “Taste of Gold" to some and “Gold Lips” to others, refers to the rich amber color and luscious, sweet essence of this wine and its honey-apricot fragrance. It is the definition of decadence! winemaker Michael Richmond says, “I love this wine with fresh fruit, or even as an aperitif to be enjoyed with liver pate or smoked hors d’oeuvres.” Others have described the Bouche d’Or as “lip-lickingly delightful,” “a tango with your pleasure senses,” and in more terms too racy to include here! 350 cases produced.

Vintage Notes

To make this wine, we delayed harvesting one acre of our estate vineyard Chardonnay grapes until November of 2006, anticipating that the additional time would further concentrate the grape sugars. The resulting wine, seasoned with a touch of aromatic Riesling, recalls to mind honeyed apricots and ripe figs, yet is delicate in weight and smooth in texture.
