This well structured Syrah hails from newer vines planted by Rob Andrews on the respected Horse Heaven Hills vineyard of McKinley Springs, and complements our highly acclaimed old vines wine, Opulence. Located at 1100 feet elevation in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, the climate is dry, hotter than the Yakima Valley appellation to the north, but winters are milder due to the tempering influence of the Columbia River on the south. The continual winds of this high plateau stress the vines, leading to intense flavors with a structural balance of sugars and acids in the fruit.
