Wine Details
AmericanWinery.com is pleased to provide you with Winery-Direct information.
Norton is a native-American grape that produces a robust red wine with big fruit flavors that ages well. Pair with red-meat, game and robust hard cheeses. Before prohibition, Norton wines were deemed the “best red wine of all nations” at a worldwide competition in Vienna. This rare, mysterious grape is making a comeback at better wineries in the Southeast.
The 2006 Grove Norton is North Carolina grown and a suberb expression and a must for the serious wine collector. Blended with 15% Lenoir, another Vitis aestivalis variety. The wine is a deep purple with hints of eucalyptus on the nose and a nice tart finish.
