Exquisite light salmon-pink color, it has wonderful rose petal, raspberry and pomegranite fruit notes. light to medium bodied, it’s clean and easy on the palate. bright fruit and youthful finish makes this wine a great summer sipper. The refreshing acidity in this wine is best when served chilled. Pairs nicely with seafood, light pastas and cheese/cracker combinations. Great wine for light hearted appetizers, like melon balls, and salads. Avoid citrus, tomato (high acid foods) and heavy sauces, which tend to over power this wine. A perfect wine to chill for hot summer days and evening barbecues.

Vintage Notes

Grapes are cultivated in the Lodi Appellation. Warm sunny days and cool breezy nights typify the growing conditions of this California appellation. Grown in nutrient rich sandy soils, the vines are classic head trained old vines. Grown on natural and dog ridge rootstock, the vines are balanced with low vigor.

Fermentation Notes

Grapes were picked in the morning and gently de-stemed, leaving mostly whole berries. The juice was allowed to sit in contact with the skins for 24 hours. The rose juice was created by bleeding it off the skins after this 24 hour contact time (termed “saigner”). It was put into oak barrels and fermented in oak barrels. After 4 months barrel aging on lees, in neutral oak, it was racked and bottled.
