2005 was another warm year which allowed us to hand harvest the Cabernet Sauvignon fruit by mid-October. This truly Bordeaux styled blend is comprised of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petite Verdot, and 2% Malbec. With this vintage we continue the practice of using small batch, open top fermenters and hand punching to mix the cap and the juice. Aging was carried out in French oak barrels, 20% of which were new. This ripe, well sculpted Cabernet in the Bordeaux tradition is saturated in color. Aromas of black currant with hints of violet and spicy oak lead to smooth cassis-like flavors. This elegant wine will benefit from up to seven or eight years of additional cellaring.

With this vintage we returned to the practice of using small batch, open top fermenters and hand punching to mix the cap and the juice. Aging was carried out in French oak barrels, 20% of which were new.
