MARITA´S VINEYARD SELECT PRIVATE RESERVE is a seductive and elegant in the taste buds. The intensity of its aromas and deep purple color are not only enticing to the eye but explosive in the palate.

Black-garnet in color. Tobacco, graphite, dried black cherry, blackberry jam, plum, black pepper and anise aromas fill the glass. Flavors of cedar, cocoa, pepper, anise and currant in the mouth, with a full-bodied texture and mouth-filling tannins. The finish is dominated by spice notes.

TASTING NOTES

The first sniff and taste tell you this is an important wine, but also a very young, tannic one. It’s the structure, and not just the ripe flavors, that’s so impeccable, giving the wine its backbone and strength. But speaking of flavors, the wine is gigantic in black currants and blackberries. One hundred percent new French oak is completely in accord with the size. Drink now, with decanting, and through 2015 at least.

MARITA’S VINEYARD is a small but extraordinary vineyard in Napa owned by the MONTES family located in Coombsville, an area of very temperate climate due to its close proximity to the San Francisco Bay. The cooling effects of maritime fog are felt earlier and last longer than in the rest of Napa Valley making it an ideal place to grow Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine is made from the best grapes that can be grown in Napa Valley. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard. Like a garden, each and every vine used to produce it has been nurtured and pampered to yield its best.

The delicate structure, bold fruitiness and spicy elegance of this wine are the next step in Bulmaro Montes’ grape growing efforts that have yielded nationally-acclaimed wines throughout his 30 years in the vineyards of Napa Valley.
