This vintage came in fast as the fall heat brought in all the grapes at once. cherry, raspberry, allspice fill the palate with undertones of charcoal, smoke, and black pepper. This wine is big and pairs well with steak and pork. unfiltered.
Fermentation Notes
The fruit from Ladi’s vineyard never ceases to amaze us with the rich dense colors and flavors. Ladi is just a fantastic grower. We cold soaked this wine for 4 days and then let it sit on the skins after fermentation for an additional 3 days and this just enhanced the color and the textures of this wine. 18 months in mostly 2-3 year old French oak barrels, we did not want to add a lot of oak for fear of masking the great fruit.
