Varietal mouth filling creamy texture with big red cherry fruit. Aromas of blackberry, cedar, blueberry and sweet light oak introduce fresh, bright, spicy flavors of the same, laced with firm tannins that carry through the long finish.
100% grown in mountainous Syrah Vineyards of Amador County. These vineyards make up a good representation of Amador County’s ability to produce world class Syrah. They vary from steep rocky volcanic slops to rolling Sierra mountain terrain. This mountain terroir produces low yields of first growth quality fruit. Harvest was in late September of 2008 with a smaller than average crop. Grapes came in with small bunches and berry size allowing for a more extractive vintage.
